"Pontiac Races"
The rest of the day was spent hanging out in the pits watching the Rolex DP race which was held on Saturday. After the race, I got
to meet some more people from Pontiac and spend the rest of the day hanging out with everyone.
Sunday morning, I arrived at the track early to sit in on the drivers meeting for the Rolex GT race and try to pick up some pointers
about what was going to happen for the day. After the meeting came morning practice.
I spent some time talking to the Banner engineering race drivers (Kelly Collins, Paul Edwards, Tim Lewis Jr.) and team owner Leighton Reese.
Then came time for the race!
I spent the entire race in the Banner pits with the team on the radio listening to all the communications and trying to learn what I
could about how a professional team communicates during a Rolex GT race. The team had qualified 1, 2 and started from the front row!
The team was able to work through some problems and get a very respectable 3rd and 6th place finishes!
The race weekend was simply awesome! We were welcomed by everyone at Pontiac and the Banner Racing team. I went back to the hotel to get some sleep
because in the morning, I would test the Pontiac G6 GXP.R!
